We are delighted to announce that Pete Capel has now taken over the running of our Walking Football offering, with sessions returning weekly at Willink Leisure Centre.
We are now recognised as an affiliated club with the Walking Football Association (WFA), the governing body of Walking Football in England, who aim to promote and facilitate the playing of Walking Football as a unique amateur sport provide knowledge and help to anyone who wants to start playing.
Initially started in 2016, our popular Walking Football section has been led for several years by Carolyn Tuttle and Barrie Awbery, who have now decided it is time to step away from the running of this. We would like to thank them both for their outstanding hard work and dedication and wish them all the best for the future.
Walking Football offers the opportunity for players of all footballing abilities to take part in a slower-paced version of the beautiful game, whilst offering a multitude of physical and mental health benefits and the opportunity to create and develop new friendships.
Our Walking Football sessions take place on Monday evenings between 8-9PM at Willink Leisure Centre.
If you wish to extend your playing career or just want to put your boots back on and join like-minded individuals who just wish to play at a slower pace, then new players are most welcome to come along.
