The FA and McDonald’s Grassroots Football Awards are for people who make a positive difference. It is a way to celebrate the fantastic individuals who put their heart and soul into the grassroots game across England – and say a huge thank you to the incredible volunteers across the country.
This season grassroots volunteers have adapted to the ever-changing Coronavirus pandemic. They responded quickly to make football happen when they could. And when they couldn’t play they kept players, volunteers and the wider community connected off the pitch.
They demonstrated the true power of football, they stuck together, helped each other across teams, across clubs and showed what the football community could do when faced with uncertainty and an unparalleled situation.
We were delighted to see our own Carolyn Tuttle nominated for Coach of the Year in 2019. It would be fantastic to see some more nominations this year for the many volunteers that help provide football across our various age groups throughout the club. Please think about who’s impressed you, who’s made a difference, and how they made that positive impact happen.
How the awards work
These awards are to recognise and reward the people, clubs and leagues that deliver grassroots football throughout the country. The awards are split into categories, anybody can nominate people into the category through the online nomination portal. County FAs select a local winner for each from the public’s nominations. These form a shortlist for the national winners, selected by a national judging panel.
The categories
Details of the award categories can be found here.
Nominations are open until Tuesday 4th May, with the national winners being selected on Tuesday 8th June.
